Based on data currently being processed, Finance Minister Ivan Acosta is certain Nicaragua’s 2022 growth rate will not be lower than 4 %, while direct foreign investment has increased three-fold in the past three years. Nicaragua received an additional 150 new transportation buses from the Russian Federation and President Ortega said his government will continue improving urban and intercity transportation.

The National Assembly approved a Primer to reduce femicide in Nicaragua. The new instructive was a joint effort of the Ministries of Women Affairs, Education, Health, Family and Childcare, and special police stations for Women and Children.

Nicaragua and Iran signed new Memorandums of Understanding this week to define procedures for ongoing political consultations and strengthen their bilateral relations.

And at UNAN-Managua we are pleased to see a record number of high school graduates preregistering and gearing up to start the 2023 academic year. Orientation will begin on 13 February.
