The escalating U.S. attacks on Venezuela are a resumption of old-style gunboat imperialism, and an assault on  the  entire  hemisphere.  The  domestic  counterparts  are  Federal  troops  on  our  streets  and  racist  ICE agents terrorizing working people in this country.

Venezuela represents the hope of an alternative world order, which is precisely why it is targeted. That, and its massive oil and gas reserves, its sovereignty and its socialism. Venezuela champions unity with the Global South — as does neighboring Colombia – solidarity with the besieged Palestinian people. Peace-loving people must protest loudly.
