President Maduro Hands Over to United Nations Evidence of US-Led Mercenary Plot
The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with the resident coordinator of the United Nations mission in Caracas, Gianluca Rampolla del Tindaro, and presented to him evidence of the mercenary-led coup plot that the United States is promoting against the Venezuelan government.
The meeting took place the night of Friday, September 20, at Miraflores Palace, and was attended by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil who accompanied President Maduro.
During the meeting, President Maduro confirmed to the UN officer that Venezuela is committed to constant dialogue and communication and to the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy.
The Venezuelan head of state also condemned the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US, which violate international law and are labeled by international experts as crimes against humanity.
The Venezuelan president further expressed his condemnation of the coordinated attacks against Venezuela by far-right governments from around the world and emphasized that Venezuela is a free and sovereign multi-ethnic country.
In recent weeks a series of destabilization attempts have been thwarted by Venezuelan authorities. The first one constituted a series of violent actions by criminal gangs for two days after the July 28 presidential elections. Later, Venezuelan intelligence agencies arrested foreign citizens—one of them an active US Navy Seal officer and others from Spain, Czech Republic and the US, along with an arsenal of 400 weapons of war that were to be used in a mercenary-led operation with the participation of Venezuelan organized crime gangs like Tren de Aragua and Tren del Llano.
More recently, on September 16, US-based mercenary boss Erik Prince publicly announced the beginning of a fundraising to launch a mercenary operation to assassinate President Maduro and other political and social leaders of Venezuela. The plot, named Ya Casi Venezuela (We are almost there Venezuela), was cooked up by the Blackwater mercenary gang head together with Venezuelan far-right operators in the United States, in an unprecedented public display of disdain for international law.
