Linda Helland

Linda Helland’s Latin America solidarity work started when she co-coordinated the Committee in Solidarity with Latin America during college. Linda first visited Cuba in 1993, lived in Havana from 1995 to 1999, and has been passionate about defending the gains of the Revolution ever since. She has worked to prioritize human needs above profit, defending the sovereignty of Nicaragua and Venezuela as well as Cuba since 1991, including upholding international law protecting the elected Venezuelan government’s embassy in 2019. She is also active in the movement for Palestinian liberation. Linda has worked in public health since 1999, and for the last 11 years has led efforts to prevent and reduce the health impacts of the climate crisis in California.
