 On February 7, Ecuador holds important national elections. The progressive UNES party is leading in pre-election polls with the possibility of replacing the current rightwing government. UNES is the present pro-Rafael Correa party.

Monica Palacios is a UNES party candidate for National Assembly. She is running for the seat that would represent Ecuadorians in North America.   She will be interviewed by Joe Emersberger, a frequent writer on Ecuador author (with Justin Podur) of forthcoming book Extraordinary Threat : The U.S. Empire, the Media, and Twenty Years of Coup Attempts in Venezuela.
